General
An upgrade is usually an extensive implementation of improvements and software extensions as well as the provision of new features. In the field of hardware components, for example, new interfaces are made available.
An upgrade of an entire system, such as a meter test system to a new, digital measuring system, would include all STM components as well as the connected components including the test computer and new test software WinSAM. In this case, we often also speak of a modernisation.
